We are a spiritual community we seek to follow the teachings of Jesus, who calls us to love one another, to reach out to those who are in need, and to grow deeper in our journey with God. Here at Newman, seekers, pilgrims, saints and sinners explore faith and doubt, justice and Jesus, peace and praise, as we journey together in the familiar and mysterious.

Methodist, or also called Wesleyan, faith traditions got their start as a movement within the Church of England prior to the US Revolution. Once in the US, the movement grew and established itself has an opposition force to slavery. From the very beginning, Methodists were a people committed to justice.
Being a part of this global denomination allows Newman UMC to be in connection with followers of Christ in every corner of the globe who are working tirelessly to make the world a better place and transform lives in meaningful ways.
Keep in mind that not all Methodists have the same beliefs. At Newman UMC we welcome different perspectives and strive to learn from one another to seek a deeper relationship with God.
